Acne can affect all skin types whether it’s oily or dry or even aging skin. Once acne affects the aging skin it is hard to determine what is the best product to use because most of the products to treat acne can be too drying for wrinkled skin. However, there are several products that are effective in clearing acne without worsening the wrinkles.
Skin Care Product #1: Sensitive Skin Soap
A regular facial soap usually contains chemical ingredients like sodium lauryl sulfate that is too harmful to the skin which worsens dryness and wrinkling on the skin. Soap for sensitive skin types does not contain ingredients which irritate the skin or inflame it. When you use the sensitive skin soap in washing your skin, do not rub or scrub your skin vigorously because it can stretch or pull your skin. Just spread the soap gently around your face and rinse it off with warm water. Repeat the procedure two times a day.
Skin Care Product #2: Tea Tree Oil
Many people buy products over-the-counter that can fight acne like for example the benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid gel or astringent toners. Unluckily, elderly people with wrinkled skin will experience severe irritation and dryness once they used over-the-counter products. However, the Department of Dermatology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital recommends tea tree oil as it is as effective as benzoyl peroxide cream in clearing acne breakouts although it will not cause the skin to react similarly. When using tea tree oil on acne, first fill a bottle with 8 oz. of water then add 5 drops of tea tree oil. After making the solution, soak a cotton ball in it and use to apply tea tree oil solution to the affected skin three times a day.
Skin Care Product #3: Calamine Lotion
Calamine lotion is usually used in treating blisters caused by chicken pox virus as well as in relieving redness and irritation as a result from poison ivy rash. This lotion is also used in decreasing redness and irritation from acne breakouts. Because calamine lotion can be both drying and soothing, it can be applied to each acne blemishes in order to dry them up. This procedure does not affect the surrounding area or causes irritation on them. You can apply calamine lotion by soaking the tip of a cotton swab in the lotion then dab acne pustules individually. Let the lotion to dry and allow it to remain in the acne for up to two hours before rinsing it off with water. You can repeat the procedure for up to three times a day.
The skin care products mentioned above are just but mere samples of those things that are effective for both acne and wrinkles. If you will try to look into different acne treatment systems, you will find out that there are items that are good for acne without drying your skin. Getting rid of wrinkles alongside acne need moisturizing components that are proven to work. Better take note of that.
